Sweet: Boston

The weather in Boston this past month has been downright crummy. Cold. Rainy. Windy. Dark. Dreary. Awful. Just awful. So, when it finally perked up today (read: actual sun in the sky), I knew I had to take my lunch break outside. No more reading blogs during my lunch hour (although I do enjoy that quite a bit). While I was out and about, I spotted this adorable-looking cupcake shop called Sweet. Camera in tow and mouth salivating, I dodged the taxis and made my way over to get a closer look.

I stepped inside, a big smile on my face. This must be what heaven is like, I thought...

...light-as-air cupcakes with mounds of frosting dolloped on top

...a pink banquette to lounge on

...jars of gumballs and caramels

...stacks of boxes, waiting to hold their sweet friends

...and "Breakfast at Tiffany's" on repeat.

This being my first time in heaven, I treated myself to the sweetest cupcake they make: a vanilla bean cupcake filled with berry bash jam and topped with homemade vanilla buttercream and sprinkles. The girl at the counter asked me if I wanted the cupcake in a box or a bag. Box, please. And would I like it tied up with ribbon? Oh yes...an orange ribbon would be lovely.

I left the shop clutching my cupcake and grinning. It was a very good day for a cupcake.

(P.S. I feel so very much like Kathryn or Naomi...cupcake-lovers, unite!)

Oh, those just look wonderful. They really do. So beautiful. I'll put it on my list of things to do the next time that I'm in Boston.
